Candacee Rakim will be showcasing an array of goods from natural hair and body products from her line Kishya, as well as a variety of island style clothing ranging from swim suits, sarongs, shirts and culture jewelry pieces. Perfect for the upcoming summer, be sure to check her booth for some summer pieces.
ANIME LOVERS Purple Sunday has a special treat for you! Caroline, an extremely talented 16 year old local high school student will be showcasing her HANDMADE anime costumes. The pictures do not do the collection’s justice! The detail and quality of her costumes are amazing. I had a hard time believing they were all handmade. Definitely a unique and interesting vendor to check!
The artistic genius behind the gold medallion and red coin that has attributed to the Asian theme of Redland Koi Gardens is 19-year-old Jennifer Taboada. Upon realizing this artist’s young age, we felt compelled to meet with her and examine her portfolio. Jennifer is a true representation of the hidden talent that is residing in Miami. As most artists, Jennifer’s work defines her life as ‘art is life’ to this young Cuban native. A free spirited woman with deep connections to her emotions, she has inked her life experiences on paper. Jennifer is currently working on transmitting these sketches onto canvas as she has been digressing onto other forms of mediums such as watercolors, acrylics and chalk.
If you come to Purple Sunday it is mandatory that you stop by her table and take a glimpse of what this young artist has in store for you. She will be doing a live painting on a piece she is currently working on entitled “Intergalactic Thinking.” Jennifer’s signature trademark is a spaceship that you will find in every piece portrayed. As for any other inquiries you may have regarding her work…you will have to ask her yourself!
Jennifer’s work is available for sale with price points starting at $50. A true investment as this girl will soon be a household name for Miami art lovers.
